Hair color

Pavalans have two types of melanin in their hair: eumelanin (black and brown subtypes) and erythromelanin (red and yellow subtypes). On Pavala, there was a hair mutation that occurred and rapidly spread throughout southwest Delezia, changing the structure of the keratin of the hair and causing it to reflect blue light rather than white light[1]. When combined with high amounts of red erythromelanin, this mutated keratin gives off a purple color. And when combined with a high amount of yellow erythromelanin, it gives off a green color.

In Unuvun

It is theorized that the initial migrants into Unuvun were high in yellow erythromelanin, and indeed to this day the population largely consists of green-haired individuals.
