During the middle ages, an Unuvunese fishing vessel blown off course managed to make it to Masiuna, where the crew was gifted fish and [[sugo]] by the locals. Fish day is still celebrated in parts of Unuvun and Ganuo, as a holiday in remembrance of helping those in need.
